NAB Mobile Banking

I joined the NAB mobile team as a Senior Product Designer, leveraging my UX background to lead projects from their early UX stages through to UI design, development preparation, and handover. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with UX and UI designers, the NAB Accessibility (A11Y) team, business analysts, and both internal and external stakeholders. My responsibilities included designing patterns for the NAB Global Experience Language (GEL), creating prototypes ranging from low to high fidelity, conducting moderated user testing, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Objective

NAB aimed to uplift their mobile application on both Android and iOS platforms while introducing several new services. Given that this project was an enhancement of their existing product (developed natively for both iOS and Android), our designs were tailored to meet the specific needs of iOS and Android scrum teams.

Outcome

Throughout the project, we maintained a strong focus on accessibility and usability, ensuring that our designs were developer-ready.

This included bug testing on app simulators and creating A11Y-compliant components for the GEL system, all while working in an extremely agile environment. The rolling launch of the updated app allowed us to test the product in real-world scenarios and assess its performance.

Notable projects where I played a significant role include the launch of Smart Receipts and Xero Invoice Matching in late 2020.
